What makes it commercial grade? While according to the color based grading, this syrup grades as either Dark and Robust or Very Dark and Strong, the flavor itself is quite strong, with that late season "bite" that you must experienced to understand. The "bite" is mapley flavor that lingers on your tongue, a smoky spiciness, or to the real connoisseurs out there, a slightly metallic after taste.
I do not find this syrup particularly off putting, in fact I put a gallon of it in my fridge and found different places to enjoy it. While it is a little much for waffles and pancakes (when you have better options available), it really shines in a bowl of yogurt with fruit, as a marinate, or over ice cream. The strong kick is excellent for baking, so that mapley goodness isn't lost in the recipe or the oven, and it makes amazing trail mix. This is an excellent product at an amazing price, so pick it up if you're confident that its what you're looking for!
